Community Advisory Council (CAC)

Cristine Kelly, Fix Creative

Cristine Kelly has called Nevada County home for the past 30 years, and was a horsewoman and small business owner before founding Fix Creative, a nonprofit management firm. She has served on the boards of the Friendship Club and Child Advocates, and is currently on the board of the newly formed Community Foundation of Nevada County.

Jennifer Singer, Board President, Center for Nonprofit Leadership; Executive Director, Bright Futures for Youth 

Jennifer Litton Singer is the Executive Director of Bright Futures for Youth and Board President of the Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Jennifer co-founded The Friendship Club in 1995. The Friendship Club has evolved into Bright Futures for Youth with the merger of NEO in 2020 and the creation of SAFE, a program that helps youth experiencing housing instability. A native of Nevada County, Jennifer is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She is a Board member of the Nevada County Community Foundation and the Nevada County Continuum of Care and serves on the Nevada City School District Board.

Leo Granucci, Co-Chair

Leo and his wife Gayle have lived in Nevada County for 22 years. A retired sales and marketing expert, he has served on the boards of The Friendship Club, Center for the Arts, Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Hospice of the Foothills, Hospitality House, Nevada County Airport Commission, and Dignity Health Corporation’s Finance Committee. Leo is also a member of Angel Flight as a pilot, a non-profit that flies patients for medical treatment. In his spare time, he enjoys golf and tennis and time with his grandchildren.

Julie Baker

Julie Baker has lived in Nevada City with her husband Richard and three sons for 22 years. Julie opened Julie Baker Fine Art, a contemporary art gallery and was the Executive Director of the Center for the Arts from 2009-2017. Since 2017 she has run Julie Baker Projects, an arts and non-profit consulting firm. The Executive Director of Californians for the Arts, Julie has also served on the boards of the Miner’s Foundry, the Nevada County Arts Council, the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation, The Friendship Club,  the tourism advisory council for the ERC and the marketing committee of the GVDA. She currently serves on the board of CHIRP as well as on the Nevada Union high school site council.

John Manocchio

John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional practicing in Truckee.    John serves on the boards of the Truckee Chamber of Commerce where he is past chair and also on the board of Sierra Senior Services where he has also served as chair.  John and his wife have been in the Truckee region for 25 years and are raising their two boys in Truckee.

Alison Jones-Pomatto

Alison Jones-Pomatto is a former Congressional aide, small business owner, book seller, and professional stage manager.  She has served on the boards of many nonprofits in the environmental, arts, and health fields, most notably, ten years with the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.  Raised in Nevada County, she now splits her time between Nevada City and the Monterey Peninsula where she continues her philanthropic work.

Jessica Penman, President/CEO, Truckee Chamber of Commerce

Jessica joined the Truckee Chamber of Commerce team in October 2022. Before coming to Truckee, Jessica was the Director of Community Relations at the Yountville Chamber of Commerce, in Napa County. Jessica has extensive experience in marketing, sales, membership relations, community development, and workforce issues. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA in Anthropology and Classical Civilizations and a MA in Egyptian Archaeology from University College London. Jessica has lived in Italy, Egypt, and England and loves to travel to new places.
